Implementing Google Commerce Search
Creating a Shopping Search Engine
Step 1 is creating a search engine. You can add as many as you like. It is done in a few minutes.
Uploading a feed to the Google Merchant Centre
Step 2is uploading a feed to the Google Merchant Centre. That is a lot of work for the end users, who have to configure more than a dozen attributes per product. These feeds can be uploaded every day or at a different interval. Up to one upload to Google Merchant Centre once every fortnight.
Commerce Search and Analytics
Step three is intergrating Google Commerce Search and Google Analytics. This is actually a big step. Three different codes have to be added to every page of the webshop.
Configuring Commerce Search for Recommendations
In order to manipulate products, e.g. making a certain product more prominent in the webshop in order to sell more of it Google Commerce Search provides its customers with the ability to enter Recommendation rules. Next week we will talk more about these rules.
